Explore the delightful Brockville waterfront, downtown and numerous attractions following the Brock Trail. From the handy Henry Street parking lot, besides the Brockville Museum and Hardy Centennial Park, the short ride east will pass the historic Railway Tunnel, now a renown walk-through experience with LED light show, the Aquatarium, Blockhouse Island and a little further east, Centeen Park.
Doubling back, pedal the off-road trail north following Buell’s Creek and Brock Trail signs for 13km return. Along the pretty tree lined urban trail experience an abundance of wildlife, planted flowers, greenspace and parks, with many plaques to read and learn more about the city’s history. With some in boulevard bike trails, easily ride under Highway 401 and onwards to skirt the large open space surrounding St. Lawrence College and Memorial Park before reaching the trail end at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area. This Cataraqui Region Conservation Area is well known for its wetlands, reservoir, trail system and diversity of plant and animal life, and is worth exploring.
Returning to Downtown Brockville, add to your visit some shopping along King Street or time well spent at a local café, patio or restaurant.
