Wineries, Cideries & Craft Producers of Cornwall & SDG Counties
South Eastern Ontario / Sud-Est de l'Ontario
At these home-grown wineries and breweries SDG Counties and Cornwall, it’s easy to relax with a glass of wine overlooking a vineyard or to toast your friends with a local craft beer.
While Ontario's wine reputation is often associated with Niagara, Eastern Ontario has quietly developed its own distinctive wine and craft beverage scene. Long summer days, cool nights and the moderating influence of the St. Lawrence River create favourable growing conditions for cold-climate grape varieties. Local winemakers have embraced these conditions, producing wines that reflect the character of the region and its landscape.
Many of the vineyards in SDG Counties and Cornwall are family-owned operations where you can meet the people behind the wines, stroll among the vines and learn more about the winemaking process. The region's wineries and breweries are known for their welcoming atmosphere, scenic rural settings and strong connections to local agriculture. Many incorporate locally grown ingredients into their products and actively support nearby farms and food producers.
