That’s when the town will come alive for an entire weekend of culture, as Gananoque Arts Network is partnering with Ontario Culture Days – ONCD - as a Festival Hub partner. Ontario Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture, and heritage that takes place every fall across Canada. During this time, Culture Days programs invite the public to engage in hands-on activities and behind-the-scenes experiences, emphasizing the vital role that arts and culture play in our communities. Millions of people participate in thousands of free, interactive events across the country – with Gananoque being no exception. This year’s theme is “FISH TALES – A Celebration of Legend, Lore and Life Where the Rivers Meet”. All events are FREE to the public. Everything is walkable, so visitors can easily take in as many events as they would like. You won't want to miss this!”* ## **Festival Features** ### Friday Evening - Porch & Patio JAMS – are back by popular demand – beginning Friday evening at Pistachio’s outdoor patio at, enjoy a variety of 8 intimate performances on porches and patios through Sunday morning - all walkable through town. The depth of musical talent in the area is extraordinary. *See schedule online.* - Legendary River Rats of Gananoque - an intimate evening of storytelling and songwriter performances chronicling the lives of local River Rat legends by those who knew them at Musky Jakes - the longtime local pub on the St. Lawrence, named after a local legendary River Rat. Come early for dinner to secure a table. This special evening will be video documented for future generations. *See schedule online.* - FACE 2 FACE 3 – Portraits of Us – Exhibition at Noel Bullock Gallery - Gananoque Arts Network – the third year of exceptional local artist’s portraits of people they know - Opening on Friday evening at 7pm and running through September. ### Saturday - Town Hall Park – Meet Catherine Moeller - ONCD Artist-in-Residence - Puppet Maker at the Town Gazebo. - Artist’s Alley - enjoy and purchase from local artists. - Crafts on the River - enjoy and purchase from local Makers - Taste of 1000 Islands - Sample from a variety of culinary delights - Head Over Heels – our own local seasoned musician duo - Surprise dance performance - GAN information KIOSK with a chance to win a $200 Gift Certificate by participation in an online survey, AND purchase tickets online for GANARTS 50/50 DRAW on September 22nd. - 6PM - 9PM Joel Stone Park - Main Stage music performances by popular local bands. Families can meet firefighters, police officers, and paramedics while exploring interactive displays and activities that showcase the important work they do every day. **Rossland Gardens Drum Circle – Culture Days on Amherst Island** Gallery Rossland Gardens, Amherst Island | 11:15 AM and 2:15 PM The first in a series of four Culture Days gatherings invites participants to join a traditional Indigenous drumming circle.
